Gaia: Mother Earth

“Mother of all,
Queen of the Earth.
Here I am, one of your children.

Help me to be the best
I can be so that people
will know the wonder of you.”

I absolutely love that statue of Gaia. She’s lovely.

I wanted to answer your question about how I deal with J’s dislike of my beliefs. The way that J found out about my beliefs was a fiasco all in it’s own, so I think from the start his opinion of it was very low. He was raised Christian and is a believing Christian. However, he doesn’t attend church and he thoroughly believes the church is corrupt. He carries his connection with God in his heart. He has had those spiritual experiences with the Christian God, which I never had. That’s one thing that lead me to the arms of the Goddess.

He’s come around a lot since I started my journey. We had a little episode a few weeks ago which apparently was his attempt at a terrible joke. He jokes around about my “psychic witchy powers” and stuff. These jokes and things are him letting me know that he’s okay with it. He doesn’t like it, I know, but I at least know he’s tolerant of it and that he accepts that it is my path and that I’m blissfully happy on it. I generally try to keep quiet about it out of respect for his beliefs.

I know he dabbled a bit in Wicca when he was younger, but I don’t know the extent. I do know that he ran back to the Christian God. So, he at least has some working knowledge. If it’s accurate or not, I don’t know. He doesn’t talk about it.

He and I don’t typically talk about our beliefs in the open. We’ve been together for six years and have had many, many ups and downs. It’s slowly getting better as each year passes and one day, I’m sure we’ll be teaching our children about the Sabbats right along side of the Christian Holy Days.

Yes, I adore it as well, plan to buy one when my budget isn’t so tight…

Glad you’re at least in harmony somewhat with it! Peter doesn’t really make fun of it and he avoids the subject, but he’s told me outright that he’s ok with it and when I lived at his place during the summer he even helped me set up my pentagramhanging on the wall at his place. And he jokes sometimes about the music I play. But it’s ok, like you said, it’s their way of telling us that they’re fine with it.

      *sigh* Boys.. XD

Yes, I wanna buy a statue like that when I can afford it, and the poem I found on a website. 😀
