The Secret Circle

So, anyone else seen the trailer for this new tv-series that gonna start airing this fall? Don’t know if it’s just in USA though. While watching the trailer I get the feeling of Charmed, Vampire Diaries and some random teenage drama series. But I’m trying to not jump to conclusions, since I haven’t watched it yet.

The “Secret Circle” series follows 16-year-old Cassie, who moves from California to live with her grandmother in Chance Harbor, Washington after her mother dies in a murderous fire. As soon as she arrives strange things begin to happen to her. She is eventually told by her “new friends” that her family is part of a legacy. One of 6 families of witches. Now that she is in Chance Harbor she completes the circle making them all very powerful. The real sinister plot in the series are the parents of the teenagers who have an agenda of their own.

Look it up and tell me what you think!

From what I have read so far, I do not think I am going to watch it… most of these series (including “Charmed”) just get me mad because of all the nonsense they show. I mean, I know it is just TV and made up, but still… I wouldn’t mind witches being portrayed as evil child-eaters, but taking something that is so close to reality and giving it a slight twist like that is… I don’t know, it pounds on my patience with a big sledge hammer. ^^ (And the only media witches I would ever forgive for being “hereditary” are the Owen sisters from “Practical magic”. *lol*)

I thought so with this as well. I can forgive Charmed because they at least try to go by the Harm None-rule. Any other just show witches being greedy for power. I’m really not sure of what I think about the True Blood witches. I can’t see a real witch having a ceremony asking the Mother to abort an unborn child, even though it’s very tastefully done (scenewise).
